Would be Banned Comic Books

To anyone who has ever truly delved into the world of literature has, at one time or another, become aware of the fact there are some books that had been banned from public viewing. These books were banned because they contained particularly suggestive or uncommonly accepted themes. These themes would mainly include things would include subjects like explicit sex, gratuitous violence, and anything that does not particularly follow along with the "American Way"thinking. Even if you are not well acquainted with literature in such a way to know about banned books on your own, grade school public education systems have tried to inform students on what books have not been allowed for them to read. Because of this, the public is aware of some of the banned novels, but most probably do not know that there have also been banned comics as well. I would like to talk about a few comics that are out today that would probably be banned if the same institutions were in place.

The first I would like to mention is a fairly recent title that has really made some waves in the comic world, "Batman: Damned." The story is an original graphic novel published by DC comics with the intention of portraying a more aggressive story. It has very incredible art that stands out with great detail that sets a much more darker tone. However, this creates some issues in the public as in the story Batman is display in a nude image, something that has never been done before. Years ago it would have been banned, now it is threatened to never be reprinted by the publisher.

Another modern book that you think would be banned would be an independent series called "DIE DIE DIE." It is an independent series published by Image comics, it being independent gives the writer and artist a lot of freedom to do what they want. This allows for the series to be very, very violent, in ways people would not even believe they could be offended by. The series is under controversy for featuring a women being involved the bloody bare-knuckle fighting in the series thus far and really taking some punches. The series wants to show a form of gender equality as far as action, but that is not universally accepted.

There are other books that even more exemplify what it means to be a books that frankly should be banned. However, I honestly just don't want to talk about those, you just need to read them and judge them for yourself.
